David Arquette Injured In A Car Crash

David Arquette is laid up in an emergency room right now after he turned his Cadillac's steering wheel a little to the left and crashed right into oncoming traffic. TMZ has the pictures of David lying face up in the grass if that's what you need to see before happy hour.

A witness tells TMZ that David was right behind a car that hit their brakes all of a sudden. David must've not heard my mom when she screamed VEER RIGHT! VEER RIGHT! ALWAYS! during our driving lessons, because he went the opposite direction and bashed right into another car.

David's rep tells People that he's doing "fine" and is in the hospital to really make sure he's fine.

No word if everybody in the other car is okay. As they say, this shit is developing (but I know you're already throwing a "bring out the breathalyzer" look)...

UPDATE: David is well enough to operate a BlackBerry, because he Tweeted this an hour later: "Remember to wear your seatbelt-wish I was. I got into a car accident but I'm fine. Luckily I have dragon's blood running through my veins. Haha Thank you for all your concern."

'The Adjustment Bureau': The Reviews Are In!

Critics largely praise the Matt Damon-led Philip K. Dick adaptation, with one calling it 'a brisk and affecting slice of sci-fi.'
By Eric Ditzian

Matt Damon in "The Adjustment Bureau"
Photo: Universal Pictures

Emily Blunt the garden gnome squares off against Emily Blunt the ballerina at the box office this weekend. Her toe-tapping dancer in "The Adjustment Bureau," which opened on Friday (March 4), will handily beat her animated statue from "Gnomeo & Juliet," a cinematic holdover from last month.

"Adjustment Bureau" stars Matt Damon as a one-time Senate front-runner who falls in love with Blunt's ballerina on the night he loses the election. One twist of fate later, Damon finds out that there are supernatural forces — slickly dressed "adjusters," played by the likes of John Slattery and Anthony Mackie — controlling everyone's lives and conspiring to keep him away from Blunt. That doesn't sit so well with Damon, who sets about fighting against these forces in an effort to keep his romance alive.

The movie blends sci-fi and romantic drama into a hybrid piece of entertainment that has won over the majority of critics. Check out what everyone has to say about "The Adjustment Bureau."

The Influences
" 'The Adjustment Bureau,' an enormously entertaining speculative thriller starring Matt Damon, would earn its kudos for ambition alone. An adaptation of a Philip K. Dick story, this is a movie of myriad genres and tonal gradations, including classic science fiction in the tradition of 'Blade Runner' and 'The Matrix' and the doomed romance of 'An Affair to Remember.' Throw in the conspiratorial intrigue of 'The Manchurian Candidate' — and a first-time director to keep it all straight — and the singular achievement of 'The Adjustment Bureau' becomes all the more impressive.' — Ann Hornaday, The Washington Post

The Thrills
" 'The Adjustment Bureau' is the thriller as glorified philosophical videogame, with David dashing through doors that are like looking-glass passageways, trying to wrench his destiny away from the forces that claim he has no free will. In many ways, this is a dated and rather gimmicky movie. Yet it's directed (by 'The Bourne Ultimatum''s co-screenwriter George Nolfi) with a wide-eyed spirit. It taps into your longing for the days when a sci-fi matrix could explain the world without making it a darker place." — Owen Gleiberman, Entertainment Weekly

The Performances
Matt Damon and Emily Blunt, together onscreen, make all sorts of sense; his compact concentration and fire-plug solidity contrast well with her gangly physicality and spirit of mischief, sexual and otherwise. ... 'The Adjustment Bureau' has the guts to play its central romance for genuine romantic feeling — and in the tasty byplay between Damon and Blunt, who seem to enjoy each other." — Michael Phillips, Chicago Tribune

The Dissenters
"The plot of 'The Adjustment Bureau' unfolds without rhyme or reason, with characters who behave in inexplicable ways just because. (Why, exactly, does one of the adjusters, played by Anthony Mackie, suddenly take a sympathetic interest in David's plight?) Damon and Blunt lack the onscreen chemistry to make you care much about their fate. Damon only seems plugged into the movie when he's running around and making like Jason Bourne, while Blunt does too good a job of portraying her character's strong, confident personality in her early scenes, only to retreat into wilting-violet mode in the movie's second half, as the script requires." — Rene Rodriguez, Miami Herald

The Final Word
Possessing great visual style, clever writing and the undeniable star presence of Matt Damon and Emily Blunt, 'The Adjustment Bureau' is a brisk and affecting slice of sci-fi that allows room for optimism and even God. ... [The] movie spins off from what might be a prompt in a philosophy college class, and while it might not get much deeper than that, it's consistently entertaining and thought-provoking. An attempt at a climactic third-act chase feels forced, especially in contrast to the gentle and almost hushed tone of what came before it, but the film's earnest emotions and sure sense of itself remain captivating even through the mildly out-there finale." — Katey Rich, Cinema Blend

Lady Gaga Producer Calls 'Government Hooker' A 'Beast'

DJ White Shadow talks to MTV News about the Born This Way track, which he dubs his 'favorite song.'
By Jocelyn Vena

Earlier this week, fans got a taste of the new Born This Way track "Government Hooker," which made its debut during a Mugler fashion show in Paris. The song's producer, DJ White Shadow, called "Hooker" a thumping, sexy track.

"To me, that song is my favorite song, and it's just a beast," he told MTV News. "I don't even know how to explain it. [Born This Way] is not a pop album; it's a pop masterpiece of music. If there was no category of pop music, you wouldn't call it pop music."

Shadow recalled how the song came together — and let's just say what happens in Vegas doesn't always stay there. "We were in this studio in Vegas, and I was playing some hip-hop stuff [for Gaga's label boss Vince Herbert], and I ran across this [old beat I had made], and we were talking about faster songs, so I sped it up and I played it for Vince."

It seems the new version of the beat, which Shadow had worked on with DJ Snake ages before he played it in that Vegas studio, was the magic that Herbert was looking for. "He was like, 'Whoa.' She walked in, and I played it for her and [producer] Fernando [Garibay]. She laid it out in two seconds. She sang over the melody and tuned it up and put the chorus in. She finished it super quick."

There's a Euro-sounding robot on the track, which comes courtesy of someone in Gaga's inner circle. "The guy that's actually talking, that's her security guard," White Shadow revealed. "We were sitting there thinking how to make a computerized voice, so we were like, 'Let's get Pete in here.' He's got a super-thick Dutch accent, and he's trying to read off paper. It was insane, and he just talks like that. That's what it's like working with Gaga. It's like a f---ing supernova. When she walks into a room, things explode."

The lyrics, White Shadow said, were written right there on the spot. "She thinks of sh-- that I can't comprehend," he said. "It doesn't make sense to me, and I'm a creative person."

A credit to her charm and smarts, Shadow summed Gaga up like this: "Working with her is totally different than anyone else I've ever done anything with. She's the most hands-on person I've ever run into. She could walk into Steve Jobs' office and tell him he's doing Apple wrong, and he'd listen. As a producer, it's super cool to be with somebody who generally cares and is fully involved."

Mike Myers Married Girlfriend Kelly Tisdale Five Months Ago

Actor's rep just confirmed the private ceremony on Friday.

Get ready to hear a whole lot of "International Man of Mystery" jokes. Comedic actor Mike Myers of the "Austin Powers" and "Shrek" franchises, married in his longtime girlfriend Kelly Tisdale in a private ceremony ... five months ago.

A rep for Myers confirmed the news to the New York Post's Page Six that the 47-year-old "Saturday Night Live" alum wed Tisdale after roughly four years of dating. The rep told the newspaper that the under-the-radar ceremony for the secretive couple was "beautiful."

This marks the second marriage for Myers, who split from his wife of 12 years, writer/actress Robin Ruzan, in late 2005. Myers used Ruzan's mother Linda as the inspiration for his popular "SNL" skit "Coffee Talk" and credited Ruzan herself for encouraging him to make the "Austin Powers" films.

Tisdale and Myers began dating shortly after his split from Ruzan. Tisdale, who is said to be in her 30s, was previously romantically linked to musician Moby, with whom she founded the New York café Teany.

Myers, who hosted the MTV Movie Awards in 2008, was last seen (or heard, rather) on the big screen in 2010's "Shrek Forever After," but more recently stopped by "SNL" to help out his old friend, host Dana Carvey with a "Wayne's World" sketch.

Nicki Minaj 'Tried To Put A Cap On My Career,' Lil' Kim Says

Brooklyn femcee says real stars have no 'time limit' and clears up Black Friday shipping delays on 'RapFix Live.'
By Jayson Rodriguez, with reporting by Sway Calloway

Lil' Kim on "RapFix Live"

Lil' Kim started her career as an artist on Atlantic Records under the Notorious B.I.G.'s imprint, Undeas Records, before eventually going on to ink a deal after her 2006 prison release with the Trackmasters, though, she never released a project with the production outfit.

Nowadays, Kim's situation is far less complicated. According to Kim, she's calling her own shots.

"I'm independent," she told host Sway during her appearance on MTV News' "RapFix Live." "I am a boss, other people work for a boss. I write checks, other people get checks. Everything you see me doing ... it's hard for a female, but I'm maneuvering with my own money and my own relationships."

Last month, Lil' Kim released new music for the first time in years with the mixtape Black Friday, a conceptual collection that takes aim at her nemesis Nicki Minaj.

The project was scheduled for release on Valentine's Day, however, fans were confused when they discovered the set was a for-purchase item and not a free download, as is typically the case with mixtapes. As of press time, fans who bought a copy of Black Friday are reporting that they have yet to receive the tape. Lil' Kim and her manager, though, insisted on Thursday's (March 3) live stream that CDs have now been shipped after the rapper took time to sign each unit.

In the meantime, Kim seems to have no intention of giving up the spotlight. She voiced her displeasure with Nicki Minaj's alleged insistence that the Lil Wayne protégé be the only female rapper in hip-hop. Kim argued that no matter how long her layoff, there's no time limit for true stars.

"I think that in order to remain relevant, you have to be able to reinvent yourself," she explained. "I don't believe in a cap on people's time limit. [Nicki Minaj] tried to put a cap on my career. You're not God, and trust me, I'm here to do way bigger things."

Did you order a copy of Kim's Black Friday mixtape? Let us know in the comments!

Them Crooked Vultures make their debut with a post-Lollapalooza set.
By James Montgomery

Officially, Lollapalooza ended Sunday night in Chicago's Grant Park, with dueling sets from the Killers and Jane's Addiction. Unofficially, it ended very early Monday morning, across town at venerable rock club the Metro, with a surprise show by Them Crooked Vultures.

To the unfamiliar, the Vultures might seem like an odd choice to close out Lolla weekend ... until you realize that they're made up of Foo Fighters frontman/ former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, Queens of the Stone Age mastermind Josh Homme and Led Zeppelin legend John Paul Jones. And their gig at the Metro was their world premiere.

According to some reports, the Vultures actually turned down Lollapalooza founder Perry Farrell's request to replace the Beastie Boys as headliners at the festival, opting to debut in front of some 1,100 super-psyched fans at the Metro, rather than 75,000 in Grant Park (tickets for the gig were announced via Foo Fighter/ QOTSA fan clubs). Meaning that, in a lot of ways, this was the most sought-after ticket in town.

Taking the stage just after midnight, the Vultures — Grohl on drums (of course), Homme on guitar and vocals, Jones on bass and keys and frequent QOTSA contributor Alain Johannes on guitar — ripped through 12 songs in 80 minutes, all taken from their upcoming debut, which may or may not be called Never Deserved the Future, and may or may not be hitting stores on October 23 (early "promo" videos touting both those facts were revealed over the weekend to be hoaxes perpetrated by QOTSA fans).

The songs, with appropriately Homme-ian titles like "Scumbag Blues," "Mind Eraser (No Chaser)," "Caligulove" and "Interlude w/Ludes," sounded pretty much how you'd expect, given the band's pedigree. They rocked, hard — Chicago Tribune critic Greg Kot described them as "fresh, invigorating and just plain nasty" — delving off into psychedelic, reverb-filled excursions and exploring proggy territory, "both of the old-school Yes variety, and the more modern Tool flavor," according to the Chicago Sun-Times' Jim DeRogatis.

It's not known if Monday's Metro performance was a one-off event for the Vultures — there have been whispers of a full-blown tour, but a spokesperson for Homme had not responded to MTV News' request for comment at press time. Nor was it clear whether or not they'll have an album out in October.

Early Monday, a Crooked Vultures Twitter account, which had previously posted links to the band's official-looking Web site and the Metro's online ticketing site — posted a link to what appears to be the group's first bit of official merchandise: a Deserve the Future T-shirt. Cost: $30.
